Last day of Chinese New Year..Chap Gor Meh aka 元宵
Travel all the way to aunt's place..goosh..damn far..
Yet..Just know i need to go there, want to go there..everyone is reporting there..

Since i was late..no chance to photo take the food..yet i ate whatever i can see.
Made Glutinous Dumplings aka 汤圆 with a little improvise done.
Instant Chrysanthemum Drink for SOUP BASE..hehee..

FINE CUTS!

Located @ Central Mall basement, there is nothing spectacular about that shop.
People would think is a meat deli, where you can purchase quality meat home.
True to that point, but there also grill and allow to savor on the spot.

Sitting is small, might not be too comfy if the group is big.
Nothing on the ambience one can give rating on, as is more like eat and go in supermarket.
But selection of meat available at good pricing is the key to the concept.

Nothing very fancy, just choice the meat you want based on the price you willing to pay and the size you can eat. From 200g - 400g, may varies.
It comes with mash potato and russian salad (cold veg mix with potato n onion).

If wallet is loaded, Kobe should be the deal on thy plate else US beef also taste just as good.

Hope this concept strives on for meat goers

Another 5.6 KM..

Just finish my 5.6 KM JPMorganChase Run for this year.
Started out in 2007..having some really annoyed experiences the last time..
Yet still encounter some this year. Sigh~

Oh well finish the race based on the time shown was 47.57 mins..however the 1st 5 mins was spent moving slowing to the starting point to start running..haha..

Pigging Out..Really Too much

Brought KYC to newton on Friday after work for dinner..he got himself hook on the feasting.
During Lunch today..he actually sms me while he was away..

KYC : When we going for another Newton Circle Eating Challenge 2008 again har?
Moi : Anytime lor..today also can. haha..
KYC : What anytime? Must prepare one ok? Like (1) no consumption of fd 6 hr bf challenge (2) ensure wear oni LOOSE FITTING attire for e challenge.

And yes..we went..this time..with Cannie & ChanTat.

Sui Japanese Dining & Sake @ craig road

Finally settled dinner location @ Sui with KH gor gor.
He really too busy..n tired..yet still found time out.
Lucky today I knock off early since went for the HR's portal training @ bedok.

Since his appetite not so good. We ordered only 3 dishes for 2 person.
Chasoba, Gyu terriyaki with ginger sauce & cod fish with mentai.
Food turn out good.
Very quite place..they didn't recommend Sashimi since felt not fresh. Very thoughtful. Never ask us to leave even we skip dessert. Kept pouring the green tea.

Spent more time listening to him talk. So rare..but was good although is all about work. He looked disappointed, stressed and nearly mood-less. I really felt terrible see him & Toon both equally strained.

Still I felt I was in a wrong place for the wrong reasons. How come...??

Tempura Feast

Yes...today's dinner was tempura feast.
Since breakfast was late, Lunch was skip as nothing much was done.

I follow-up with nail painting for myself, whilst food prepping & laundry was done by Joey. By dinner time we started all the cooking.

All the sizzling and chopping and dipping.
We made a feast for just 2 gals. Crab Tempura, Veg Tempura and smoke salmon crackers with garlic spread. Oh Oh..fish fingers too..haha.. Not forgetting champagne.

So happening for just 2 gals. Lucky joey got another 2 friend to come up and feast with us. Else is really simply too much.

Had Pork Knuckles & beer before R2 class @ New Harbour Cafe
Friday's dinner turn out to be supper for me in the cinema.
Sat crab crab & pork knuckles again @ Macpherson Lane
Sun Fusion Food Event with parents.
and Last night..Chong Qing SteamBoat @ The Chinese Feast for ChanTat's BDay.

Not forgetting the in-between tea-breaks..sigh..loads of food..low exercise output.

Dinner with Pals...

It has been awhile since i last met up with Adeline. And KK initiated the meet up for last night dinner.Location..148 Neil Road @ Wiener Kaffeehaus.

The place setting i very simple and cosy. Marble table giving it a nostalgic feeling like the old coffeeshop in SG but air-con with a touch of modern flavor.

We starting ordering and even ate before Adeline arrive. As she has a last minute deployment to finish. KK also had helped himself with 1 pint of beer before I arrived and hunger was really stepping up the gear. I had a hard time browsing through the menu, as the dishes name are really hard to pronounce since they are all in German, i think. Lucky all have description of the ingredients used.

Finally we settled our choices. KK ordered a Cordon Blue which he had read up on his friend's blog, it was deep fried pork warp with cheese and ham in it, served with boiled potato. For me, I finally settled with the Set Dinner of the day. With soup as starter, pan fried slice pork with cream sauce, served with boiled potato as main, coffee and dessert of the day. Additional to what we each have, my craving for sausages kicks in and had to order one pork sausage which also serves with boiled potato.

Yes yes..by now..there are really lots of potato and pork...hahaha

Happy cos is pork..n got sausage plus beer..hahaha, interesting Soup..looks spicy but not at all.
She was lost ..had to go to her rescue.
Finally she came.. order the "Cordon Blue"
Had desserts too..
Felt the night was great and enjoyable.

Les Bouchons & The Home Story

It was a pre-birthday dinner with Kian Hwee on last Friday.
I was late..kekee..due to work & gor gor was on time despite office at Bedok.
He even got dark chocolate which he promise many weeks back for me.

Dinner was started with a little awkwardness at first..how to start the conversation while we walk to Les Bouchons cos he hardly talk in the first place. Interesting experience like meeting a new friend for the first time.

Once reach, we quickly settle down and next think we knew...food was ordered. As the menu is limited it made it easy without much thoughts needed. I knew what I was in for..the Ribeye steak. While he got the grilled salmon steak.

The awkwardness slowly melts down, especially when the food came and so did the house poured red wine we later ordered. Despite I had told him that he needs to talk more during dinner, due to long hours of talking I have done in the day, he still fails to so hence my nature too over..worrying running out of topic.

The food was good, cos it comes with free-flow of fries. Salmon was just nicely done, juicy and moist. Ribeye was generous size, tender and juicy, full of flavor with the herb butter melting away. As compared with the Salmon of cos Ribeye wins, really for a meat lover. Had to part some with Kian Hwee else will be totally stuffed. With the red wine, was totally enjoyment for me, I hope it was the same for gor gor.

I think the free flow of fries is really meant for ppl with huge stomach. A fries fanatic like me can't even finish the ones in my plate. Lovely it came with a side salad and hot rolls as starters. And provides lots of condiments for the mains to go with.

All the eating and talking, we had to ordered a 2nd round of red wine. Don't know what is it but was still good. However not as nice as the 1st round of red. Both aromatic and smooth taste. With 2 red wine down, my face flush like a red light bulb. Before we knew it, we had spent more than 2 hours having dinner. Thats like the longest time I have spent talking to him since the day we met. And the 1st time we dine together. Hahahaaa ^_^

All good things have to end, as I have to rush to meet my friends for late night movie.


It was "My Home Story" starring Joan Chen and Qi YuWu . A good movie, colorful and with depth build up. Felt completed watching the movie. Can understand narrators point in the movie. The enjoyment comes with friends I went with, the chocolate I was enjoying and the movie that delivered the story.

A very happy day I had.

Les Bouchons..

Joey's bday celebration..with me having dinner at Les Bouchons
Had escagot then 2 mains.
RibEye n Lamb.. both were tender and sweet.
A Veuve Clicquot champagne .. and ended with desserts cream burlee and a floating merreinge

Later headed to Bark's Cafe at Loyang..next to Changi Chapel Museum to chill out with Wendy. Feels relax and back to the old times of school days.

Meals with the Cs..

Coincidence starts with the letter C. So did my 2 appointments for lunch and dinner.
Cliff for lunch and Cedric for dinner.
Was @ Sun with Moon with Cliff and Ramen shop @ Cuppage Terrance with Cedric.

Yes..there was new food on the menu for Sun and desserts too. Didn't get to try the dessert..hopefully next time as was really full after the meal. It a summer cuisine menu hence the dessert includes shave ice so cool but Singapore now is cool to cold climate due to the rain.

Ramen was my dinner craving, tried the Chasu Ramen..was turn out better then the one I frequently ordered, Shio Ramen. However the waiter keep getting our order wrongly. First he heard only 1 set, then we told him 2..then he thought only added on a ramen missing out the dumplings..which makes me wonder why the dumplings are taking so long. Faithfully and finally it was served. Yippy

Both was comforting to dine with, and through the conversations I also understand some perspective from the guy's point of view in salsa and relationship.
Does give me a little more insight to what I have to deal with.

Over Eat Once Again

Yeah Yeah..eat eat eat..growing FAT is like my nature..hahaha
Badminton was canceled due to unforeseen issues. Hence all gathered to have dinner at Vivo's Hogs Breathe Cafe. Attendees : KYC, Toon, Cannie, me , ChanTat and Mark.

I probably consumed the MOST food. First was a mug of clam chowder, tasted so-so.
Then had a few finger food with the seafood platter ordered. And my main was their standard Prime Ribs, which i don't understand is not a RIB..but steak..why call rib leh. anyway 300gms of that..i think i finish at least 200gms. I ordered Medium-Well but think the waiter heard medium-rare..it was really not very COOKED..but I still can eat with the gravy.

Sigh..Mark can't eat steak..too bad. I also finished all the mashed potato n salad. not missing out some pork ribs provided by Mark and fish by Cannie. All these accompanied with 2 glasses of water. When i left the place, I was blotted.

Finally reached home after the long bus ride. I can't help but to vomit some out since feeling too uncomfortable with all the meat. But after the death anniversary prayer for my grands. I ate again..worst..roast duck and a bowl of RICE...

All that...I tortured myself by staying up till 4 am watching old Chinese TV drama by SBC production (about 15 yrs ago) , Ellen Degenerous n Martha Steward's show. Felt the brain exhaustion the moment I hit the bed.. Hahaaa..so super sinful.

Next time I must really CONTROL myself..sigh.. ^_^"

JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge

Yeah!!!..Finished the run in 41:20 mins, that is really good for me since I'm coughing quite badly plus running nose..haha. Easy compared to Standard Chartered's 10km. But the route taken is kind of narrow, not so nice to run since lots of huge size people running.

After the run, left only 4 of us at the padang tent buffeting out the remaining food. Keke..I really can eat, within 30 mins after the run, I had 2 bananas, 2 chicken wings and 2 250ml water. Was really enjoyable time eating on the padang with just few of us. Use mineral water to clean ourselves..keke..all the mud at the padang..yucks!!

After that when to meet Belinda & Cilia for movie "200 Pounds",humorous and touching. Ate another chesses burger too..hungry..sigh..Hope done gain weight from that burger.

Dinner with Jyoshith n Family

Anyway...had dinner (Fri nite) @ Crystal Jade Palace Teochew Restaurant, located @ Paragon with Jyoshith cum family. Of cos attendees included the standard ppls: Toon, Atul, KYC, Me and additional Cannie, Cannie's sis NanA plus..CHaliki. That because they flying back to Australia on Sat.

I find the food moderate but with a price which cost a hefty $366. Only the egg oyster was really good enough since we had 2 servings, maybe blanch prawns cos is really fresh, durian pudding and herbal jelly desserts.

Following are some of my thoughts on the dishes :

1. Braised Goose : To me..braised duck would be equally good
2. BBQ combo (Roast Pork & Duck) : Duck normal cos my dad's is as good. Pork was crispy but had a smell (understand from Joey, it must be a male pig not castrated )
3. Prawns : Sweet n fresh, cost us $60 so expensive
4. Teochew Steam Pomfret : 900gm - A little to sour and fish too big and hard.
5. Fried Egg Oyster : Was really tasty so go easy on the sauce given.
6. Braised Beancurd : Normal
7. Garlic KaiLan : Normal
8. Beef Hor Fun : Mix review from the ppl eating it. Personally ... normal ...
9. Durian Pudding : Nice
10. Herbal Jelly : Nice..not too hard at all
11. Mango Pudding : never try so should be okie
12. Steam Crystal Dumpling : Skin thin but out 3 flavors , only are nice.
13. Service : Good overall
14. Ambiance : Good

Although they giving me free braised goose the next visit(with a due date), but doubt I would go again..hahaha

Busy 14 Apr.

Is ended with a salsa dancing for the wee hrs. And now in the day, have to prep for Toon's Bday celebration. For the night, Cannie suggested to have dinner at Vivo, beer and sausages. Lastly the late hours are left for salsa if possible else St James to meet KK. But it is not going to end there, cos after midnight, it will start off the graveyard visitation for the "Ching Ming" event...What a day is going to be...

Enjoyable Dinner Moments

It has really been a long time since we last had dinner together. Seems like a yearly thing, where LYC will treat both of us with the excuse being Ee's bday most of the time. But this time is mine..hahaha

We when to Hanabi Japanese Restaurant @ Kings' Arcade to have buffet. The spread was nice enough and service was quite acceptable. But is really too far to go since is located at Bukit Timah.

After that heavy dinner, Ee still suggested to go Cordary & Finch @ 5th Ave to have dessert..wow..it was really some sampling after Ee's bf suggested to have a sampler for 4 pax.

Wow.. it was really too much to eat...filled me up .. lucky i got salsa after that. Had a great time with them, cos is all about joking & teasing. Very light hearted gathering. Looking forward to our next dinner, although the content of conversation might not change greatly between LYC and us..haha ^_^

Great Lunch @ Pu Tien

Today..I gather 10 other colleagues out for lunch @ Pu Tien on Kitchener Rd. One of the regular restaurants my family love to visit. I did the ordering and hence all my regular stuff was served.
Seems like the meal turn out well, everyone enjoyed the food even Atul and Athula.

Glad can gather so many ppl together, a form of mini celebration for YongChye too..since there is no cake. Too bad Toon Hwee, Jean n Jyoshith are not around. Then that would really be a reunion feeling as a team on the whole.

Dinner with friends..

Great dinner last night with Toon, KYC, Cannie and Chan Tat.
Brought them all to the Korean Restaurant I frequent at Tanjong Pagar area. All ate and enjoyed the a hearty meal. Food was good enough for all.

Although we all got to know each other from being colleagues, but we are really more like friends. Happy such a friendship had blossom.

After dinner, got them all to go down Union Sq to have a taste of my salsa hobby. I suppose everyone enjoyed, since the band was singing and get to see all the Rueda, Salsa dances. I had a few dance but was not every into it as usual, a few moves can't do well. Left that place early too to go home with the rest. But super happy cos is the first time I had my own clique of friends at Union Sq.
